When you are using the Android phone, there are times where you need to select certain options to perform some actions, such as ‘File’, ‘Edit’ etc.
Is there something similar to Android where there is a menu for us to choose options to perform on the screen we are viewing?
The answer is… YES!
When you click on the ‘Menu’ button on your phone, there will be a pop up that appear from the bottom of the screen. That is called the Option Menu.
As you can see in the example below, a 1 line 3 box Option Menu appears when you click on the menu button on the phone.
These options usually ‘affect’ the entire screen that is displayed, and the menu will change accordingly to the screen that you are viewing at the moment.
As you see from the screen shot below, the Option Menu changes the option when you are in the Mail screen.
In some cases, you will see a ‘More’ Option at the 2nd row, 3rd button.
Click on the button if the selection exists and the options you are looking for are not available on the screen.
If you select the ‘Delete threads’ from the Option menu, you will delete ALL the SMSes.
What about when you are selecting a particular item on the screen? For example, deleting a particular SMS in the Messaging app?
Press and hold on any selection (in this example, a particular SMS) for 2-3 seconds, and you may see a popup menu that appears. Y ou can then choose an action you like to perform with the particular selection, such as ‘Delete Message’ to delete the particular selected SMS, or ‘Forward’ to forward the SMS to another party.
This selection is equivalent to a ‘right click’ which you do on your computer.
You select an item, right click on it, and a pop up will appear that ask you what you want to do with the selection!
